Accommodation
Heriot-Watt University is able to offer its students almost two thousand rooms in halls of residence at its Scottish mainland campuses, with approximately one thousand six hundred available rooms at the Edinburgh campus and roughly two hundred rooms in Galashiels*. Accommodation is guaranteed for all first year undergraduate and postgraduate students, while the university also offers advice for students wishing to find accommodation in the private sector.
While accommodation is also available at the Orkney Island and Dubai campuses, these residences are operated by the individual campuses themselves. Students are required to get in touch directly with their prospective department for details of the accommodation currently available. Contact information for each campus can be found on the Heriot-Watt University website.
Students should be aware that the university does not offer accommodation for students with partners or families, although advice is available for students who are looking for alternative kinds of accommodation in the campus area. Students should contact the appropriate campus administration office in order to find out more information about the different types of accommodation available.
