Accommodation

For many new students, a key factor in enjoying their independence and settling in to their new environment is where they live. Every student will have individual expectations of, and demands on, university accommodation. For some, an en-suite bathroom will be a priority, whilst other students will be keen to be close to the main campus. The University of Dundee offers hundreds of self-catered rooms for its students, spread out over seven different sites.

For students keen to branch out on their own, private accommodation is available throughout Dundee. Living in privately rented housing involves financial considerations such as payment of utility bills and rental payments to a landlord, as well as the need for a responsible approach to home security. For many students however, private accommodation gives them a chance to live independently in a way they have never done before. Living with friends and renting a property is often a key stage in student independence and a big part of the university experience.
