Finding Student Accommodation

For students, the process of looking for a room to rent is relatively simple. Students are usually well supported in their search for accommodation within the UK, both by their University and by the private student options on offer. As a student, you will need to ask yourself what kind of housing you need and why. Some relevant questions could be:

  • Do I want to live in a student-only community and make new friends?
  • Do I want to live in town, or in the suburbs, and how much will that cost?
  • Do I want to live on or off campus?
  • Do I need a quieter area, without distractions?
  • Do I want to live in private or university-owned accommodation?
  • Do I want my own place, or would I rather live in a student flat share?

Once you have a clear idea of what you want to find, the search may well be a lot easier. As a student however you will need to remember that certain preferences might need to be ignored in favour of renting somewhere to stay that best suits your budget.
