EEA & Swiss Nationals

If you are a national of a country in the EEA or of Switzerland, then you are eligible to live and settle in the UK thanks to the right of abode or 'right of residence'*. This means that whether you are moving to the UK for work, to study or simply for pleasure, then you can do so without many problems.

However, you have to prove that you will be able to support yourself financially throughout your time in the UK, perhaps through an employer who is posting you to work in the UK: see Professionals Moving to the UK. This could be proved using bank statements, official letters from employers or similar financial documents.

You may also be entitled to bring family members with you, even if they are not EEA or Swiss nationals: see Family Members.
