Organisation of Tenants

An organisation of tenants is an association responsible for representing all the tenants of a particular landlord. Landlords who own one hundred or more properties must attend a tenants' organisation conference at least once a year. At this conference the landlord must explain their plans and ideas for the properties, as well as evaluate the success and/or problems of the previous rental period.

The tenants' organisation has the right to obtain information from the landlord, consult with other tenants and give advice on rental problems. The landlord is required to compensate the costs incurred by the tenants' organisation. Unless an Organisation of Tenants is certified to manage a certain building by the government, it must be able to prove that it represents at least 50% of all tenants living there.
