In Italy it is a good idea to buy local newspapers and property magazines early in the morning when you are looking for accommodation. The property market section is typically found at the back of newspapers, and gives you a good overview of the properties available in your area. Newspaper advertisements are relatively cheap but widely distributed, and so they tend to be popular with local landlords. Property magazines tend to feature advertisements for and articles on properties throughout Italy, with homes for sale and rent, photos, detailed information and the contact details of the relevant landlords or estate agencies.
