Average Rental Costs in the Centre of Italy / Rome
Rome is the bustling capital city of Italy, located in the heart of the country. Crowded by students and workers, properties here are in high demand and prices tend to reflect this.
A furnished studio in central Rome with some utilities included can cost 40 €/m² . Even in the Eastern area of the city, where the suburban location reduces prices, you can expect to pay around 20 €/m². At these prices, a central 30m² studio would cost €1200 a month, whilst a cheaper studio in town would cost around €600.
The average price of a two-room apartment in the centre of Rome is around 25 €/m², which is much higher than in other cities. In the eastern part of the capital, the price of a furnished two-room apartment is around 17 €/m². A 50m² apartment will cost between €1250 and €850 a month.
Three-room fully furnished apartments located in the centre of town or near to it and fully furnished will cost around 23 €/m². In the eastern part of Rome the price goes down to 17 €/m². This is a saving of €300 on a 50m² apartment.
It is very difficult to find a penthouse in Rome, but they are available in smaller towns near to the capital, such as Cassia and Prati where prices range between 15 €/m² and 30 €/m².
