Annual Rental Price Review

The annual review of rental prices increases the amount you will need to pay each month for your accommodation. This review is calculated in the following way: the previous rent is multiplied by the rental reference index (IRL) for the current quarter, and then divided by the IRL for the same quarter in the previous year. The rental reference index is published by the national institute of statistics and economics (INSEE) every quarter.

The date of the annual rental review is sometimes indicated on your rental contract. If this is not the case, the review will take place on the anniversary of the rental contract being signed. The review takes place once a year, and should occur only on one of the two dates just mentioned.
