General Banking Services
Every bank account should offer basic banking services such as cash withdrawal, transfers and an electronic payment card. Cash withdrawal enables you to access your money outside regular banking hours, whilst transfers simplify electronic payments between bank accounts, perhaps to pay a bill.
If you do not have a good credit rating, you may not be eligible for a regular debit or credit card. However, as part of the Central Credit Committee's recommendation that everyone be allowed to open a basic account with basic services, a 'pay as you go' electronic card has been developed for cashless payment. The costs for these services are usually covered by the account running costs. Some customers, such as students, will be able to find banks where they do not have to pay for banking services.
