We are currently planning our daughter’s wedding and were shocked to find that Ecclesiastical wedding insurance refused to cover her groom as he didn’t currently have a UK address. He is German and a lawyer in Munich, and I am shocked to find that they can refuse to cover him. Do all wedding insurance providers refuse to covers foreigners or can anyone recommend any other insurance company where it would be fine? |

Is that even legal? I am not sure, but I can’t remember seeing anything specifying the address of the person on my wedding insurance. I was with WeddingPlan, they were great, and they tailored the cover to my needs as my wedding was a bit outside the standard requirements, so I am sure they would accept your daughters groom. |

Surely that can’t be right....... I would be outraged. And he is from the EU for goodness sake he doesn’t need a visa or anything to get in the country why wont they insure him? Have you tried calling again? Perhaps there was a mistake the first time round? If not then ask to speak to a manager and find out some facts before you go so if they still refuse you can say you are going to make a formal complaint. Ridiculous!!!! |
