I went in to the post office the other day to pick up a health insurance E11 form but couldn’t find it. I didn’t have time to have a look around but when I asked the woman behind the counter she said something about another form and some kind of card. I have to admit I have not been abroad in a while but now i am going abroad for my erasmus i would like to make sure I am covered. What should I do now if not this form?

The E111 form was actually replaced by the EHIC (European Health Insurance Card). It doesn’t cover you for everything abroad, and not for long stays for example if you plan to move abroad. But you can find a lot of information online and also if you go in to the post office you can pick up an application there. If not you can apply online, it is very simple and then they just send you your card directly to your house and it is valid for quite a long time. http://www.nhs.uk/nhsengland/Healthcareabroad/pages/Healthcareabroad.aspx
