We have a trip organized with my dance group and they are covering us for holiday and travel insurance, valuables however will not be covered. As I will be wanting to take a lot of quite expensive dance shoes and also my laptop, camera, phone etc I will be needing a separate valuables insurance. IS this possible? If so where from? What kind of coverage sum should I be looking for?

It is possible, but it is probably easier to try and get your items covered as part of your home insurance. If you have home contents insurance then it should be easy for you to add these items to your policy as “specified items away from home”. Sometimes you can also get everything covered for a lump sum. Or couldnt you try and contact the people who organized the dance trip to add the whole group’s valuables for an additional fee, that way you could all split the cost?
