Hello fellow trekkers, I'm trying to get a good trekking travel insurance. High altitude treks don't seem to be covered by a lot of insurers and I'm looking for something that would allow me to climb to around 4,000m. Can anyone recommend an insurer?

I've faced this same problem myself looking for insurance that would let me trek at 4,500m. I don't understand why travel insurers don't offer more trekking options... It's actually pretty safe if you're going on a well traversed route with a guide, and loads of people go trekking each year, also at high altitude! I only found out that the trek wasn't covered by my insurance by chance... and however safe it may be I'm not willing to take the risk of paying £25,000 to be lifted off a mountain! STA covered my trip and were friendly too, I recommend giving them a call.
