Do I need travel insurance? Norwich union worth it?

I will be going to visit a friend in Hamburg for a long weekend and I am not sure if I need travel insurance? Norwich Union have given me a quote, and granted its not that high, but do I actually need travel insurance for such a short time? |

Well if its not that expensive then I don’t see why you wouldn’t take out travel insurance. It could really help you. I went to visit a friend in London a couple of months back and when I was getting off the plane someone must have pick pocketed my purse and I had nothing left!!!! I was stuck in Stanstead airport with no money, no credit cards and still had a train journey until I met my friend so had no way of getting to her. I ended up just crying my eyes out to the police who sympathized and thus helped me get on a train to London for free. But I could have been stuck there with nothing, luckily I had my friend to depend on for money, but it was awful, I am sure travel insurance would have been a much easier solution than spending the whole weekend taking her money and having to ring around cancelling cards etc. Luckily I had my passport still otherwise I would have been in real trouble. My advice, just take out the insurance! |
