My friends have recommended some family-friendly deals on travel insurance. Lloyds TSB insure your kids for free and Boots include adventure and winter sports cover. Does anyone out there agree, disagree, or wish to choose between them?

A lot of insurers will insure your children free of charge, just as many will automatically include sports cover. At the moment, insurers have to be competitive to win customers over, so it's worth checking out a lot of different deals to find the best price! I checked with moneysupermarket and they suggested insurers I had never heard of, who offered the same cover as the big names for a fraction of the cost. For example, multi-trip worldwide cover for my wife and I and our two kids (10 and 4) costs from just £39.50 a year with CBG London including USA and Canada. The same policy with M&S would cost more than £100 and exclude the USA, Canada and the Caribbean!
