I don’t get what I have done wrong or what I have missed out. I opened a Yorkshire BS ISA as I read that it is tax free and that you wont have to pay taxes but I just got this month pay and I have still been taxed. What did I do wrong? Am I supposed to submit something to the tax office or something? And also I don’t get it, why doesn’t everyone open an ISA if that’s all it takes. |

I think you kind of made things obvious but just don’t realise. Come on, you said why doesn’t everybody do it if that’s all it takes, well its because that isn’t all that it takes. You can’t just open an ISA an never pay tax again, that’s not how it works. The tax free part of the ISA just means that any interest you earn on the money in the ISA won’t be subject to tax. |

Ok thanks for the explanation, even if the other comments were a little harsh, but thanks anyway. At least I know now. |
