I have had an fixed rate ISA with Halifax for the past 2 years, and it is about to mature in a couple of months. I went in to see what they had to offer but as it wasn’t as good as some others I had seen advertised I decided that I would do a Halifax ISA transfer over to either Abbey National or Coventry Building Society. Abbey National’s one interests me as they are offering a good rate, but when I went back in to inform Halifax that I would be changing and asked them how to transfer, they said that I shouldn’t be hoaxed into the hype as most of these figures drop as they are just an advertising gimmick. Is this true? Has anyone had this happen where the rate just suddenly falls once you sign up with them? |

I wouldn’t jhave thought that Abbey National would do this, I mean weren’t they the ones with the Hoik advert???? But then again it was an advert lol so that was probably a marketing strategy also lol. Have Halifax not offered you anything to try and keep you? Could you not transfer it within Halifax to a different one? Maybe an instant access ISA? |
