I am not sure if I am just making this up or not but I am so depressed with the Britannia ISA rates at the moment and was wondering if others could give me some figures to compare to see whether I should transfer my ISA somewhere else. I think that the rates are really getting to me especially as I have been saving in ISAs for quite some time now and with £30,000 in a Cash ISA I can feel the difference of what I was getting before and what I am getting now on their 1.25% rate. What are you getting?

I am with Abbey Direct ISA and I am getting 2.00% however I think you can get a better rate if you have a higher balance. You will have to check if they accept transfers though as I know some ISA providers don’t.
Also very interesting:
  • Tax-free national savings & investment accounts?
  • Taxed income from savings?
  • Tax rules for pensions contributions?
  • New pensions & 2006 rules...
  • Do I have to give notice to withdraw from a cash ISA (Halifax)?
  • Can I withdraw from my tax free savings account (CIBC Bank)?
  • Is the tax free savings account RBC offers available as a joint account?
  • Can I have more than one of the tax free savings account TD introduced?
  • Is there such a thing as joint tax free savings at CIBC?
  • Overpaying the tax free savings RBC account: any charges?

The Stafford Railway Building Society also has 2.75% with a minimum balance of 30k.

I think the Santander Direct ISA is a great offer. The minimum is 9k, they allow transfers, withdrawals are penalty free and there is a bonus for the first 12 months with an interest rate of 3.00%. You should definitely check it out, the difference between 1.25% and 3.00% on 30,000 is nearly tripled, not great overall but it is still something.

Thanks for that, heading to Santander later today and seeing what they can do for me. Thanks for the help.
