Student finance: Nottingham unfairness?

I was just surfing the website for student finance @ Nottingham University and there are extra bursaries for NHS students... Isn't this a bit unfair?

Yes and no. It's unfair that medical students are offered more money than other students, because it isn't necessarily your fault if you can't study medicine or don't want to be a doctor. On the other hand it's important to the government that people are willing to study medicine because the need for healthcare professionals continues to grow! And if there's a need for something, people are willing to pay for it. It might be unfair, but it's the way it works!
