Hello, can anyone help / advise on the procedures involved in student finance & PGCE course? I'm thinking of applying for a PGCE course next year & just want to know about the money side of things... |

If you've already studied you can get a lot of funding that you don't need to repay in the form of student grants and bursaries. You could get as much as £9,000, but should get at least £4,000. This funding is in addition to the student loans that you could also claim! There's a lot of official information about this on the Directgov site, for example here: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/EducationAndLearning/UniversityAndHigherEducation/StudentFinance/Applyingforthefirsttime/DG_171531. Teaching is a good career path in terms of finances: it's a pretty secure job, you get money to train and a good pension! Good luck. |
