I moved to UK two years ago to study Political Sciences at uni. I had to take out a KTB student loan in order to finance this. I was meant to have a loan that covers me for 3 years but now after checking my account I see that they have started to take the repayments already even though I have one year of study left. I have no idea how to contact them. Whenever I call them it doesn’t go through and I don’t remember seeing any branches here in UK. Does anyone know if they have any branches here? Is there an email service I can use to contact them? Is it normal for them to alter terms of my loan contract without informing me?

It depends on what your loan contract terms are. If you didn’t read the fine print then perhaps you could have overlooked something important where it states that they have the power to change conditions etc. I know that they have a branch in LA, perhaps if you can’t get through to them back home try them there……but not sure if they would have access to your accounts. Actually can they do that? Can banks access information if you bank with them but abroad?
