I'd like 2 go back 2 Uni & study as a mature student. Finance @ Kingston Uni for parents seems 2 be: turn 2 government for benefits (from what I can see on their website). Does anyone know if they offer more than this?

I wouldn't like to say for definite but I'd guess not. To be honest, there's no reason why a University would give you money when the government offers assistance for student parents. This way it's all assessed the same way and made 'fair' for everyone. You can get money towards childcare costs and a parents' learning allowance for books, travel etc. If you have enough income to support yourself you may end up with less benefits, but then you should, in theory, be able to cope with what you have anyway!
