What are the best student accounts out there? I know that with the NatWest account they give you something like a 4GB USB stick, a 5-year rail card, discounts to places, and money off a Laptop. Are there any better than that? I know I am asking a lot but might as well get what I can out of it......
Also can someone help me with AER?? What is it and is it good if it is a high number or a low number?

Sometimes though its not just about what you can get out of them, its what service they can offer, for example I was with both NatWest and Barclays at some point throughout my studies, and although I got loadsa freebies from NatWest, I ended up closing my account after 2 years whereas I have stayed with Barclays for 10 years. Barclays were always happy to help, weren’t difficult if I had a problem and needed to extend my overdraft, made no fuss about me moving abroad for a year and have excellent online banking. I never felt safe using the NatWest’s one.

Compare the different offers at http://www.moneyfacts.co.uk/money/currentaccounts/3/bankingstudaccounts.aspx to see if there are better incentives for a student account than at Natwest.
