I have just applied for an account online but then I started thinking and was wondering whether this makes a difference to the overdraft facility. If I set it up online does the NatWest student account overdraft just get added automatically? I don’t have to go in branch to apply again for it do I?

Have you received your card yet? If so then you could just go to a cash point and see, the overdraft that they give you is usually visible on your balance. If not then if they have sent you any of the account details then the information must be on there somewhere. If it isn’t then it will be easy to apply for one, you just need to go to the bank and ask for them to set it up for you. They usually ask you to fill in a form to see what your income and outgoing is, but most of the time it’s just a formality, you should be fine to get it.
