Regarding bank accounts for students, how do I go about transferring an overdraft? I have a student’s account with Barclays but have heard NatWest offer a better service for students. How do I close one account for the other when I have used £890 of my overdraft?

Why do you have to close it? I have two accounts, one with NatWest one with Halifax..... Just open a new account then if you do want to transfer the overdrafts take the money out of your new account using the overdraft to pay back the Barclays overdraft.

Go and talk to someone over at NatWest I am sure they have procedures for when this happens, they will probably be able to do everything for you, saving you the hassle.
