Are student accounts free? Do you have any charges at all to pay? What happens if a cheque bounces do you have to pay for that? Do they charge you for using the overdraft?

Well they are free in the sense that you don’t have to pay any fees for using the account, but you will still have to pay charges. That way you still have to pay charges for bounced cheques etc . You don’t have to pay for using your overdraft up to the amount they offer you interest free, if you use beyond that you will have to pay a usage fee and interest......so try and keep below the limit. If you know you need a high overdraft search for the best student account for overdrafts, I think it’s either Halifax or RBS.
