I was told by a friend that there is a state pension e-forecast service online that allows you to see an estimate of what state pension you will receive along with how many qualifying NI years you have already accumulated. Where can I find this service? Do I have to pay for it? Are there any specific things I need in order to get the forecast?

Yes there are certain stipulations to applying for an e-forecast. You need to be living in the UK and not less than 4-5 months  away from state retirement age. I think there was also something to do with being widowed but I am not sure how it affects the calculations. Does anyone know why being widowed would affect the forecast? But you know if you are not so used to using the internet you can also apply for a forecast via post of telephone. The details are on the DirectGov website.
