I read under the pre-budget report ages ago that the pension was going to go up and also that we would receive a state pension lump sum of £60. Not sure whether I misunderstood this because I am not sure how it works and all the jargon they use in those reports completely goes over my head. Does anyone know about this, and has the pension rise already taken effect I don’t want to be missing out. Thank you for any help.

In April there were quite a few changes, perhaps you didn’t notice as it wasn’t so much of a difference but the state pension increased from 90 to 95.25 for a single person. There were some bonuses given out in January alongside the Christmas bonus but as they didn’t make it very public perhaps you received it and just thought it was the xmas bonus. It was £60 on top of the normal £10 that we get.
