I have been banking with the two BS’s for the past twenty years and now that I am finally in the place to start putting a bit of money to one side, I want to know who I should choose to set up a savings account or notice account with. So how do Yorkshire building society interest rates compare to Britannia? Who would you go for? Or are they both great? Or worse, both bad and I should look somewhere else? Any help people and I would really appreciate it. |

Have you thought exactly how much you want to save? And whether you will need access to it or not? I think you need to think about this and then decide because there is a big difference between a savings account and a notice account. |

Also aren’t notice accounts usually opened when you already have a substantial amount to invest not just when you want to start saving? I would say the savings account is the way to go. Then once you have settled on that I would say that the Yorkshire building society interest rates are pretty good and if you are happy with their products and services then stick with them. |

Thanks, yeh I think I will stick to the cash savers as I really am not that stable but I just want to at least try and save a bit of money each month. Am going for the Internet saver, decided it is the easiest to set up and I can just add money online whenever I have a bit extra at the end of the month. Thanks for your help! |
