I am not sure what to do, I have been living off interest for some years now. I mean I have a job but at the same time that just covers the basics, my Yorkshire Building Society savings were giving me the extra I needed each month for the little luxuries. But I have noticed how much it has decreased over the past few years; I used to be one about 6% at the very beginning now I am under 1% a HUGE difference. I am not disillusioned and I know that everyone is going through similar thing but I want to at least try and find an account that is on a better rate than this. Does anyone have any suggestions? If not does anyone have any other ideas? |

Rob a bank????? Nah, just kidding, so many of us are going through the same thing. Although tedious I found that the only way for me to make more money again was to study all of the different products religiously and check the new products regularly. And I don’t just mean from YBS, check everywhere, and stick to instant access account that’s are easily transferable, you don’t want o be stuck in a low rate and then see a much higher one elsewhere. |

Are you wanting to get the interest like you have done in the past or actually invest it and put it away for a while? If so I would say to have a look at the Yorkshire Building Society savings guaranteed investment account. Although it is for 6 years you are guaranteed a minimum growth of 15% and could go up to a maximum of 72% gross over this period. The minimum is £3,600 but if you have been living off interest I am guessing you have quite a lot in savings anyway. |

Have you had a look on the investment pages here, although they don’t have any rates as such they have details about each different type of investment and they can help you make the choice about what you want to do with your money. http://www.monetos.co.uk/investment/ |
