I have £2000 to invest, which I can invest for three to five years. I could also save up to £250 a month but would want some access to the fund in case of emergency. What would you suggest are the best interest savings accounts for these investments?

Lloyds, Abbey and Norwich & Peterborough offer good regular saver accounts. You could put your £250 into one of these and earn up to 6%: if you invest £3,000 you'd earn about £180 interest. You could think about putting the £2,000 in a fixed term bond – this pays interest each month but the capital is locked away for around five years. Barclays offer a bond which pays interest each month – you could keep the interest on one side for emergencies or put it in your regular saver. If not, you could consider a notice account – but these pay less interest.
