I am 17 and just got my first part time job. Only in a restaurant but still I am earning a bit of money now, and as I still get money from EMA for college I don’t particularly need it at the moment. My mom told me I should start saving it and said that maybe I could get the Yorkshire BS internet saver like what she has. But I am not sure if they allow under 18’s to have an online saver. Does anyone know? If not what other type of saver could I go for? |

Will you want instant access to your money or are you hoping to put it away for a while? If so I would suggest am ISA, they usually have better rates and that way it may even stop you from using the money when you don’t really need it. |

Well it says here on the summary of the internet saver that it is available to anyone over 16…http://www.ybs.co.uk/savings/online/internetsaver/index.html … so it should be fine mate. |

I opened an Egg instant access saving account when I was 17 and I had no problems at all witht hem. But this will depend on whether you mind being with a company that is totally online etc or if you want a branch to go in to if something goes wrong etc. |
