My daughter has just started a part time job and as she still gets money from her dad she said she would like to save up for something special, or even towards driving lessons next year. I am with Yorkshire Bank so I am hoping that she will open one of the Yorkshire Bank savings accounts, however I am not sure whether they have accounts for minors. I know they have normal accounts, but are there any savings accounts? If not, would it be easier for me to just open a savings account for her in her name, sort of like a trust fund of some sorts? |

It seems as if the only option is the Cybersave account. It can be opened online and is available for over 13s. |
| Also very interesting: | |

Wouldn’t she be better of just getting a normal current account as it is not sure as to how long she wants to save money for? |

Here you can apply for the Cybersave here: http://www.ybonline.co.uk/personal/savings/childrens-savings/cybersave/cybersave-personal-savings . It is actually pretty good and the interest is paid in 4 times a year not like some others, meaning that you don’t need to leave money in there for the whole year. |

Wow that is great, I wish I could get my young ones to think like that. It is great to know that some kinds still have this sense of value and not just spending all the time. Even got a job even though she has money, that is great, seriously, hats off to you!!!! |
