Is it possible to get an 'all-in-one' life insurance pension deal? I heard that you may be able to combine these 'insurance' schemes, or put your life insurance in a pension wrapping...

There's a chance you're confusing two ideas, so I'll put these to you: do you mean, can you arrange a life insurance that covers your pension or that pays out a lump sum on retirement which could be invested as a pension? Or do you mean can you get a life insurance disguised as a pension for tax breaks? All are possible in a way. Considering the first idea, you could get insurance that offers enough cover that your equivalent pension income is available for your spouse, or you could sell your life insurance on retirement for a cash amount. Alternatively, there are life insurance policies that are 'wrapped up', as you put it, as pension schemes, in that the money you invest is eligible for tax breaks. Which type are you thinking about?
