It seems that I have been unlucky enough to be given a pension credit overpayment that I didn’t even know about. The DWP sent me a letter saying that I didn’t give them all of my details and that I didn’t reveal all savings details when I am sure I did. Well anyway, what will I have to do now? I know I will have to repay them but am I looking at hundreds or thousands? Will they expect me to pay it all back out of my own savings or can I make it so that they give me less each week to pay it off?

Unfortunately I think it is only the DWP that can answer you. But it depends how much in savings they are thinking you kept hidden from them. Say for example I forgot to include a £2,000 savings account that I had and they charged me nearly £900 repayment for a 4 year overpayment so I think it depends firstly how long they haven’t “been informed” and then how much you were “hiding” Good luck
