With regards to the state earnings related pensions scheme, how do they arrive at a figure? What is the method of calculation used to determine this amount?

That is a question that needs many answers in order to be replied. But I try: When were you born? How many working years you have contributed into the system? Do you have any pension credits? All of these details change the amount that you would receive.

Although it is true that these factors alter the amount your receive, there are many other things too, best solution is to contact your local pension office or check online for more in depth info http://www.thepensionservice.gov.uk/
