I am on the quest for THE perfect pet insurance: low excess, easy to claim, covers pre-existing conditions and has a friendly customer service team. Am I searching for the impossible? Actually when I think about it, I probably could drop the customer service requirement and even the pre-existing conditions but are the first two possible? Wherever I look, claiming costs an excess of about £100 when most of the time the things needed are just below this- say 80-90. So my question is, if I wanted to pay for all of these things myself why would I take out insurance, I might as well just take my chances and hope for the best I could save loads. Any thoughts? Any good news for me on the Perfect pet plan?

There will never be any insurances without any excess, well without extortionate premiums, otherwise how would they make money especially when some ops cost thousands of pounds. The lowest I found was between £50-£60. I am now with PDSA pet insurance and I really like them as not only do they only charge 50 for excess they also give 20% premium to their charity, which I think is great.
