I just took over Argos pet insurance cover for my new little kitten and I am not sure what I am supposed to do. They told me that he is covered straightaway and they sent me an email with a reference number on it, is this what I am supposed to give the vet? They haven’t sent me any actual paper work, will they or is it all by email? Also i'm not sure how the insurance actually works, do I have to pay upfront and then they’ll pay me back? Or do they contact my registered vet directly and they handle it between themselves?

No most of the time you will need to pay upfront and then you give the paperwork and the receipts to your insurer who reimburse you. Make sure the Vet signs off all paperwork as they will need this as proof, but get used to doing it all yourself, they are not responsible for any of your insurance papers.
