Who is eligible for the budgeting loans/ DSS grants?

I am filling out the budgeting loans DSS form for a friend who is currently getting incapacity benfits. But the thing is I cant seem to see it anywhere on the form. Is she eligible for this grant? The woman at the disability office gave it to us and as she knows Alice’s condition I thought that she surely must be eligible but all I can seem to find on the form are Jobseekers and Pensions credits. |

If I remember correctly then I think it is only those on JSA, Pension credits or income support that can apply for the loan. But don’t you have to be on income support in order to receive incapacity benefit? If so then your friend should be fine. If you cant find it anywhere then just tick the income support section and then in the blank bit at the end for support/further information mention the incapacity benefit. You could also try calling them up directly to see if someone will go over it with you both. |
