Can someone help me with regards to Bradford and Bingley mortgage rates please? I am a little clueless and I am not sure if I understand things correctly. I recently noticed that the current rate is around 2% yet I am paying 5% how is this possible? Why haven’t my rates decreased also?

I am guessing you have a fixed rate mortgage right? If so then obviously your rate is not going to drop. Ps you do know also that B&B no longer operate I think your mortgage was passed on to Abbey which then became Santander so if you have any queries contact them!!!

Oh ok, I thought that the fixed rate part meant that I was fixed to stay with them for 5 years not that the rate was fixed. My boyfriend was in charge of all the mortgage stuff and when he moved out I had to try and sort things out, so now I am just learning. Sorry for the silly question :-S
