Can I change to HSBC standard variable rate?

Rost Rost Topic creator Posts: 1	I currently have a 2 year fixed rate mortgge, but I am a little annoyed about the rates being so low at the moment is there any way that I will be able to revert back to the HSBC standard variable rate? My renewal date is in September but I would like to be able to do so beforehand. Is this possible? What can I do to get out of mine? Will I get charged a ridiculous amount?

Maisie Maisie Posts: 4	You can get out of your fixed rate mortgage but it will cost you, just like everything in this world I would check your contract, sometimes the details are ok and it is something like a slight percentage. But definitely check thoroughly as sometimes it can be thousands and thousands of pounds to get out of this type of mortgage.

Sunita Sunita Posts: 4	You expect to get out of your deal because the rates are low, bet they would let people get in to to a fixed rate mortgage if the rates went up so why should they let you cus the rates went down. You signed a contract now stick with it.
