I was hoping to start investing and a friend recommended the Halifax fixed rate bonds and I was wondering if some people could just post their views, thoughts or experiences with such bonds so that I can get a feel for what the public think of them. I trust my friend but I am not sure whether I should lock away my money.

I don’t think you have anything to worry about when it comes to the Halifax fixed rate bonds but I wouldn’t advise anyone at the moment to go for fixed rates as it is almost certain that the rates are going to rise so why lock yourself down to a low rate?
