Should I get life insurance & AD&D insurance too?

I've been looking at life insurance policies and a lot offer life insurance & AD&D too. It's a supplement so will cost me extra, and I'm just wondering whether it's worth investing in or a waste of money? |

To be honest, I think it's (hopefully!) unlikely that a claim would ever be made – or ever be successful – with AD&D. Accidental death and dismemberment is such a specific area of cover... there are lots of loopholes and lots of boxes to be checked before a claim is valid for a payout. I think it's only worth the investment if your circumstances are such that there's a real risk you could die in this way... If not, I think you might be better off investing more money in a regular policy and extending the cover that it offers you. |
