I've read a lot about smokers having to pay high life insurance premiums, and I was wondering if it's ever ok to 'lie' on your life insurance forms? I do smoke, but really only VERY rarely: I have one packet a year, if that.

Not sure it's a good idea to lie on something as serious as insurance forms... Just in case you somehow get caught out and your policy is invalid! Or even worse, it prevents your loved ones getting any money when you die... Could you ask your doctor? Explain that you are a rare social smoker and don't want to bump up the cost of your premiums unnecessarily... Also, if you smoke that rarely, maybe you could just give it up entirely?!
