Hi there. I'm trying to calculate an appropriate sum for my life insurance & SBLI have a calculator designed to help. It doesn't really help me much though because I need help thinking about all the things that are classed as 'annual personal expenses'... |

Yes, I see your point! It would be more useful if they gave you lists of typical expenses, etc. Hmm. It might be a good idea to go through your bank statements for the last few months. What do you actually spend your money on? Remember too to include any seasonal expenses, including things like holiday travel and gift buying... all these things add up and are a part of the total value of your personal expenses. If you have a definitive list of all your expenses, you should be able to categorise them according to the titles SBLI give you and use their calculator! |
