My friend told me that there's a great new deal on life insurance... Norwich Union are offering it for free to new parents! What's the catch?

Actually it's Aviva. They used to be Norwich Union but they've changed their name. Don't you remember the adverts with Brue 'Walter' Willis? Hilarious. Anyway, there isn't a catch with the new policy it's just a good marketing tool and it gets people in the door with Aviva. If you've already dealt with a company in the past and had good experiences you're more likely to continue dealing with them. The only catch is that it's not free life insurance forever: it's free until your new baby's first birthday, and then it stops. It doesn't cover you for the typical exclusions, like, if you take your own life your family will not receive the payout. But it's a good start and makes people start thinking about their finances, insurance needs, and family security.
