What life insurance rules and regulations should I be aware of? I'm planning to buy my first life insurance policy and any advice is appreciated. |

Be careful with your smoking status! Smokers are a pet hate for insurance companies, or rather, a favourite because they bump the cost of their policies up! If you're a casual smoker, maybe just puffing at parties and not inhaling more than a handful of packs a year, do NOT check the box for 'smoker'! Some would call this deceptive, but you'll end up paying the same premiums as a forty-a-day overweight chain smoker with a history of lung cancer... Keep in mind at all times how your answers could ring alarm bells and you'll be ok |
