My boyf and I would like to open an account together where a bit of our wages will come together to pay for the rent and bills etc but I am not sure what I need in order to open a NatWest Joint account? The problem is is that we don’t live together at the moment but we need to start saving so that we have enough money for a place so we thought it would be better to just set it up now for the rent and bills to come, but we don’t actually live at the same address. Will this be a problem?

No this wont be a problem, so many people have joint accounts for business purposes and they don’t live together, I would have thought you would just need proof of address and ID for both of you. And obv you both have to be there in person. I am not sure if they accept a written authorization, but I doubt it, I mean you could have forged the signature, so I would just take some time off and go in together… or Sat morning.
