Can anyone suggest a possible investment saving account where I could invest 5k? I can’t decide where to invest. I have saved some money over the past few years but have been a little careless and just left it dawdling it in my current account, and I need to start thinking of a better way to manage my money. I would need access to the account in case of emergencies as I don’t think I am secure enough as yet to be totally frozen out. I am also looking for something secure, even if it comes with a lower rate.

Why not try a Direct Isa. But this is only good if you are at ease with internet and telephone banking. You can only invest £3,600 per tax year but you get the added bonus that is tax free. It is 100% secure and even though you wanted to save more perhaps this could leave you with the added security of keeping a bit of money in your normal account “just in case”.

ISAs are always the way to go….. and as the tax free allowance for ISAs has just gone up you can invest £5100 so you are fine!!!! Invest the whole lot!!!!
