Hi, I'd like some tips re: insurance providers: who offers cheap home insurance? UK insurers seem to charge a lot...? (I'm not from your island)

Hello non-islander, are you looking for basic home insurance cover? Or just contents insurance? It occurred to me that you might just want to insure your own belongings while you're on our island and have been looking at quotes for contents and building cover... The best way to guarantee cheaper home insurance is to make sure that your home is very secure: make sure that you have a burglar alarm and a smoke detector, and locks on the doors and windows. If you're the new home owner, get new locks fitted. If your property is well protected and well lit it's a lower risk for the insurer.

I actually think that our home insurance isn’t that bad, when I was living in France it was much higher and the payout if worse came to worse was lower than what I have at the moment. Have you tried More Th>n? They tend to have very competitive prices....
